Searching for wife and children of Warren SMITH, who settled in Morrow County prior to 1840. He was probably born in Rutland Co, VT circa 1790-1800. He migrated to Cayuga Co, NY and then to Morrow County. One of his children was Henry A. SMITH who married Elizabeth Maria VAN SICKLE in 1848. Please respond to Carol McAlister, 603 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430.

I am searching for the parents of Emma Augusta JOHNSON. She married Joseph Mosher BREESE. I recently obtained his death certificate and he died 2 May 1922 in Morrow Co. He is buried in Union Cemetery. I have not been able to find a death certificate for Emma but I do know she was still alive when he died. Emma and Joseph had a daughter, Edna Valentine BREESE born in Morrow Co. Edna married Collin Garfield LEITER. Does anyone know where Union Cemetery is? I wonder if Emma is buried next to Joseph. Any information would be appreciated.

I have been searching in vain for my HOWE ancestors and finally got a clue in Andreas' History of the State of Nebraska (1882). The family of my gggrandmother, Permelia Ellen HOWE, moved from Morrow County to Darlington, WI before 1856, when Permelia m. Leander J. CARPENTER. Permelia, b. 1840, was the daughter of John (b. 1808) and Polly ?(b. 1811) HOWE. No doubt they were born in an eastern state--NY? PA? Permelia was a middle child with many siblings: Sarah, David, Elizabeth, Thomas, Harvey, Parthenia, Hellen-- I have exact birthdates for all and correct birth order, from a family Bible. Would love to hear from anyone who has these names in a family tree. So far, they have been a brick wall for me.

I am interested in finding out more about the BRENIZER, BARR and SCOFIELD families of Morrow County in the early to mid 1800's. The Barr and Scofield families were in Muskingum County before they came to Morrow County. The Brenizers came to Ohio via Maryland and earlier Pennsylvania. I am particularly interested in tying Emeline Scofield (wife of Merrick Barr) to the family of Adelphus SCHOFIELD.

Thomas CALLAHAN married Leah BURT July 19, 1833, in Marion (now Morrow) County. He was probably a son of Cornelius CALLIHAN. They had two children: Theodore C. CALLIHAN b. June 01, 1834, and Lucy Ann CALLAHAN b. September 20, 1841. Lucy married A. J. SHOEMAKER June 7 1861. They had two daughters: Mrs. J. S. MAY of Indianapolis and Mrs. George H. CARMONT of Lakewood, OH. After his death she married J. W. BARRY. She died Jan. 19, 1920. Theodore C. CALLIHAN fought in OVI 3d. He married Catharine J. GIBBONS June 12, 1869. They had two sons, Clyde and Edgar. Looking for information on and descendants of these families. Jane Peppler, 5301 Cedronella Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
